Biography
Paul Unwin is an English film, television and theatre director and writer. Born in Reading, Berkshire, he studied drama at the University of Bristol.
He co-created the long-running BBC medical drama series Casualty (1986) with Jeremy Brock and has directed episodes of numerous British television series, including Shameless (2004), Agatha Christie's Poirot, EastEnders, Silent Witness, Agatha Christie's Marple and Casualty. His theatre work includes a period as artistic director of the Bristol Old Vic from 1987 to 1991. His short film Syrup (1994) received an Academy Award nomination.
