Biography
Peter Appel is an American actor of stage, film and television. Born on 19 October 1959 in New York City, he graduated with an MFA from Brandeis University in 1987 and completed a two-year programme at the William Esper Studio in New York in 1992.
He has appeared in over thirty films since the late 1980s, including Léon: The Professional (1994) as Malky, Basic Instinct (1992), Sleepers (1996), Spider-Man (2002) as a cabbie, The Happening (2008) and Bad Education (2019). His television credits include multiple roles in the Law & Order franchise and appearances in Oz (1997), Curb Your Enthusiasm (2004), Boardwalk Empire (2012) and Blue Bloods (2012). Appel has also worked extensively in theatre and as a voice actor in video games.
