Biography
Peter Gerety is an American actor. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he began his career in theatre, joining the Trinity Square Repertory Company in 1965 and appearing in over 125 productions there. He later performed on and off Broadway, including in Conversations with My Father (1992) and The Lieutenant of Inishmore.
On television, Gerety played Stuart Gharty in Homicide: Life on the Street (1996–1999), Judge Daniel Phelan in The Wire (2002–2008) and Otto Bernhardt in Sneaky Pete (2015–2019). His film roles include appearances in K-PAX (2001), War of the Worlds (2005), Inside Man (2006), Changeling (2008), Public Enemies (2009), Flight (2012) and A Complete Unknown (2024).
