Biography

Pierre Guffroy was a French production designer and art director. He was born in Paris on 22 April 1926 and died on 27 September 2010.

Guffroy studied at the École des Beaux-Arts and the School of Decorative Arts in Paris, and later at the Institut des hautes études cinématographiques. His credits include production design on The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (1972) and Tess (1979). He won an Academy Award for Best Art Direction for the latter and received a nomination in the same category for Is Paris Burning? (1966).
