Biography
Randy Edelman is an American composer and conductor for film and television. He was born on 10 June 1947 in Paterson, New Jersey. He began his career playing in Broadway pit orchestras and later wrote songs recorded by artists including The Carpenters, Barry Manilow and Dionne Warwick. He also composed the theme for the television series MacGyver.
Edelman is known for his film scores, including Twins (1988), Ghostbusters II (1989), Kindergarten Cop (1990), The Last of the Mohicans (1992, co-composed with Trevor Jones), The Mask (1994), xXx (2002) and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008). He has received nominations for a Golden Globe Award and a BAFTA Award for The Last of the Mohicans, along with multiple BMI Awards.
