Biography
Joe Medjuck is a Canadian film producer. Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, he earned a BA in Honours English from McGill University and MA and PhD degrees from the University of Toronto, where he taught for twelve years and founded the Cinema Studies Program at Innis College. He also worked as a journalist for film publications and broadcasters before moving to Los Angeles in 1980 to collaborate with Ivan Reitman.
Medjuck has frequently worked with Reitman and was a co-founder of The Montecito Picture Company in 1998. His producing credits include Ghostbusters (1984), Twins (1988), Space Jam (1996), Road Trip (2000), Old School (2003), Disturbia (2007), Up in the Air (2009), No Strings Attached (2011) and Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021). He is one of the founders of The Criterion Collection and has taught film studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
