Biography
Robert Lieberman, also credited as Rob Lieberman, was an American film and television director. Born in Buffalo, New York, he studied at the State University of New York at Buffalo before moving to Los Angeles, where he began his career in commercials.
He founded the production company Harmony Pictures and directed thousands of television advertisements, winning multiple Clio Awards and the first Directors Guild of America Award for Best Commercial Director. Lieberman directed feature films including Fire in the Sky (1993) and D3: The Mighty Ducks (1996), and episodes of series such as thirtysomething, The X-Files (1999), Dexter, Criminal Minds and The Expanse. He directed numerous pilots that went to series and served as an executive producer on The Dead Zone. Lieberman died in Los Angeles in 2023.
