Biography
Robert Blackman is an American costume designer. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Texas and a Master of Fine Arts from the Yale School of Drama. He began his career in theatre before moving into film and television.
Blackman joined the production of Star Trek: The Next Generation for its third season in 1989 and remained the lead costume designer for Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Enterprise, as well as the films Star Trek Generations (1994) and Star Trek: First Contact (1996), for which he designed the Starfleet uniforms later used in Insurrection and Nemesis. His Star Trek work earned two Primetime Emmy Awards and eight further nominations. He later designed costumes for Pushing Daisies, winning a third Emmy, and for series including Rizzoli & Isles.
