Biography
Robert Emms (born Robert James MacPherson) is a British actor. He was born on 20 May 1986 in Horley, Surrey, and trained at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).
Emms began his career on stage, playing Albert in the National Theatre production of War Horse in 2009, which led to his film role as David Lyons in Steven Spielberg’s 2011 adaptation. He is known for his performances as Pythagoras in the BBC series Atlantis (2013–2015), Leonid Toptunov in the HBO miniseries Chernobyl (2019), and Supervisor Lonni Jung in Andor (2022–2025). His film credits include War Horse (2011), Mirror Mirror (2012), Kick-Ass 2 (2013), Borg vs McEnroe (2017) and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018). He plays Josh in the 2026 film Bad Apples.
