Biography
Robert McLachlan is a Canadian cinematographer. Born on 23 March 1956 in San Francisco, he was raised in Vancouver and studied at Simon Fraser University. He was mentored by Richard Leiterman and began his career with documentary work for Greenpeace. He founded the production company Omni Film Productions in 1979.
McLachlan has worked on numerous feature films and television series. His credits include Final Destination (2000), The One (2001), Final Destination 3 (2006), Dragonball Evolution (2009) and Nightbooks (2021). On television he has served as director of photography on Millennium, multiple seasons of Game of Thrones, Ray Donovan, Westworld and Yellowstone.
He is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers and the Canadian Society of Cinematographers, and has received several CSC awards and Primetime Emmy nominations.
