Biography

David Franco is a French cinematographer. Born on 14 September 1963 in France, he was raised in Zaire, where his father worked as a theatre director. He studied communications at the Université du Québec à Montréal, specialising in photography.

Franco began his career shooting music videos before moving into feature films and television. His credits include director of photography on episodes of Stranger Things (2017), Game of Thrones, Westworld, Perry Mason and Fallout, and six episodes of Alien: Earth (2025). He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee (2007) and has received multiple ASC Award nominations.
