Biography
Jane Espenson is an American television writer and producer. Born on 14 July 1964 in Ames, Iowa, she studied linguistics at the University of California, Berkeley. She began her career after winning a Disney Writing Fellowship in 1992, initially working on sitcoms such as Dinosaurs and Ellen.
Espenson is known for her extensive work on drama series. She wrote or co-wrote 23 episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–2003) and served as a producer on the show. Her other credits include episodes of Firefly (2002), Battlestar Galactica (2004), Game of Thrones (2011), Once Upon a Time (2011), Marvel's Jessica Jones (2015), Foundation (2021), and Fallout (2024). She has also held producing roles on several of these series.
