Biography
Rudolph Sternad (6 October 1906 – 23 April 1963) was an American art director and production designer. He worked on more than seventy films, beginning in the 1930s.
Sternad was a frequent collaborator with producer-director Stanley Kramer. He contributed to many of Kramer's productions, including High Noon (1952), The Caine Mutiny (1954), The Defiant Ones (1958), Inherit the Wind (1960), Judgment at Nuremberg (1961) and It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963).
He received three Academy Award nominations for Best Art Direction, for The Talk of the Town (1942), A Thousand and One Nights (1945) and Judgment at Nuremberg (1961).
