Biography

Sarah Pia Anderson is an English television and theatre director. Born in 1952 in St Albans, Hertfordshire, she began her career in Britain, directing for the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre and the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, as well as early television work for the BBC.

Her television credits include an episode of Prime Suspect (1995). Since the mid-1990s she has worked primarily in the United States, directing episodes of series including ER (1994), Gilmore Girls (2000), Dead Like Me (2003), Veronica Mars (2004), Grey's Anatomy (2005), Bosch (2015), This Is Us (2016) and Good Girls (2018). She is professor emerita of cinema and digital media at the University of California, Davis.
