Biography
Stefan Dechant is a production designer and former art director and illustrator. He began his career in the art department, working as a storyboard artist, production illustrator and concept artist on films including Forrest Gump (1994), The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Minority Report (2002) and Avatar (2009), where he served as supervising art director.
Dechant transitioned to production design in the late 2010s. His credits in the role include Welcome to Marwen (2018), Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018), The Call of the Wild (2020), The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021), Pinocchio (2022), Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire (2023) and Dead Man's Wire (2026). He received an Academy Award nomination for his work on The Tragedy of Macbeth.
