Biography
Stephen Wertimer (also credited as Steve Wertimer) is an American production manager, producer and director. He began his career in the early 1980s as a DGA trainee and second assistant director on films including They All Laughed (1981), Eddie and the Cruisers (1983) and Moonstruck (1987).
Wertimer worked extensively on the Law & Order franchise. He served as first assistant director on 64 episodes of Law & Order (1996–2005), unit production manager on 55 episodes (2002–2010), and co-producer or producer on 82 episodes (2006–2010). He also directed four episodes of Law & Order (1999–2001) and two episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2000–2001). Other credits include first assistant director on The Ice Storm (1997) and production roles on series such as New Amsterdam (2018–2021).
