Biography
Steve Hughes is a British television director. He directed the Doctor Who episode 'Closing Time' in 2011.
Hughes has directed numerous episodes of long-running British series including Casualty, where he helmed the 30th and 35th anniversary episodes as well as award-winning instalments, Holby City, Doctors, Waterloo Road and Land Girls. He has also worked on Midsomer Murders, Wolfblood, Creeped Out (as lead director), Pandora, Miss Scarlet & the Duke (as lead director), Death in Paradise and The Good Ship Murder.
His episodes of Casualty won Best Continuing Drama at the RTS Awards in 2015 and 2022, the BAFTA Television Award in 2022 and the Broadcast Awards in 2022.
