Biography
T Bone Burnett is an American composer, record producer, musician and songwriter. Born Joseph Henry Burnett III on 14 January 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri, he grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. He played guitar in Bob Dylan's band on the Rolling Thunder Revue tour in the mid-1970s.
Burnett is known for his work on film soundtracks, including as music producer and composer for O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000), for which he won multiple Grammy Awards. He also contributed to Walk the Line (2005), Crazy Heart (2009) and Cold Mountain (2003). He won an Academy Award for the song “The Weary Kind” from Crazy Heart. Other credits include music for True Detective (2014) and The Hunger Games (2012).
He produced the album Raising Sand (2007) by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, which won the Grammy for Album of the Year. Burnett has been married to screenwriter and producer Callie Khouri since 2006.
