Biography
Tim Minear is an American screenwriter, television director and producer. Born on 29 October 1963 in New York City, he grew up in Whittier, California, and studied film at California State University, Long Beach. He began his career as an assistant director on films including Platoon (1986).
Minear wrote episodes of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993) and joined The X-Files (1993) in 1998. He later worked extensively with Joss Whedon as writer, director and producer on Angel (1999) and Firefly (2002). Other credits include creating The Inside (2005) and writing for Wonderfalls (2004) and Drive (2007).
Since 2011 he has served as executive producer and writer on American Horror Story (2011) and 9-1-1 (2018), and as writer and director on 9-1-1: Lone Star (2020). He received Emmy nominations for his work on American Horror Story and Feud (2017).
