Biography
Tyler Nelson is an American film and television editor. He began his career in commercials and through the American Cinema Editors internship programme before working as first assistant editor on several David Fincher projects, including The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), The Social Network (2010), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), House of Cards (2013–2014) and Gone Girl (2014).
Nelson has edited episodes of the series Mindhunter (2017–2019), Love, Death & Robots (2019–2022), Tales from the Loop (2020) and Shadow and Bone (2021). His feature credits as editor include The Batman (2022, with William Hoy), Creed III (2023, with Jessica Baclesse) and Tron: Ares (2025). Nelson and Hoy received a Saturn Award nomination for Best Editing for The Batman.
He serves as co-director of the American Cinema Editors internship programme and is based in Los Angeles.
