Biography
Vicky McClure is an English actress and presenter. She was born on 8 May 1983 in Wollaton, Nottingham. She trained at the Central Junior Television Workshop in Nottingham and made her screen debut at the age of 15 in Shane Meadows’s A Room for Romeo Brass (1999).
McClure is best known for her role as Lol Jenkins in Meadows’s This Is England (2006) and the sequel series This Is England ’86 (2010), ’88 (2011) and ’90 (2015). Her performance in ’86 earned her the BAFTA Television Award and RTS Award for Best Actress in 2011. She has also played DC Kate Fleming in Line of Duty (2012–), Lana Washington in Trigger Point (2022–) and Karen White in Broadchurch (2013).
McClure was appointed MBE in 2023 for services to drama and charity. She married Welsh director Jonny Owen in 2023.
