Biography
Alex Lowe (born 15 January 1968) is an English actor, comedian and voice artist. He trained at The Studio School in North London and Leicester School of Performing Arts. His early screen roles include Young Edmond Bertram in the 1983 BBC adaptation of Mansfield Park and Paul (aged 17) in Kenneth Branagh's Peter's Friends (1992). He also appeared as the Messenger in Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing (1993) and as a ship's crew member in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994).
Lowe is the creator and performer of the radio character Barry from Watford and the stage and screen character Clinton Baptiste, first seen in Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights. His television credits include appearances in Spaced (1999), Peep Show (2003), Midsomer Murders (1997), Utopia (2013) and Brassic (2019). He has also worked as a writer for television and radio.
