Biography

Andrew Scheinman is an American film and television producer, director and screenwriter. Before entering the entertainment industry he worked as a professional tennis player and earned a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1973. He is one of the heads of Castle Rock Entertainment.

Scheinman produced several films directed by Rob Reiner, including Stand by Me (1986), The Princess Bride (1987), When Harry Met Sally... (1989), Misery (1990) and A Few Good Men (1992). He later wrote screenplays for North (1994), Flipped (2010) and The Magic of Belle Isle (2012), and directed Little Big League (1994). He served as executive producer on the television series Seinfeld.

He won an Emmy Award for producing Seinfeld and received an Academy Award nomination for producing A Few Good Men.
