Biography
Rob Reiner was an American director, producer, actor and activist. He began his career as an actor, notably playing Michael 'Meathead' Stivic on the television sitcom All in the Family (1971–1979), for which he received two Primetime Emmy Awards.
Reiner directed a series of acclaimed films including This Is Spinal Tap (1984), Stand by Me (1986), The Princess Bride (1987), When Harry Met Sally... (1989), Misery (1990) and A Few Good Men (1992). He also produced the latter two. Three of his films have been selected for the National Film Registry. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1999.
Born Robert Norman Reiner on 6 March 1947 in the Bronx, New York City, he died on 14 December 2025 in Los Angeles, aged 78.
