Biography
Ben Salisbury is a British composer and musician. He studied music at Newcastle University and Bournemouth University and has scored numerous natural history documentaries, including several David Attenborough series such as The Life of Mammals, Life in the Undergrowth and Life in Cold Blood.
Salisbury frequently collaborates with Geoff Barrow. Their joint credits include the films Ex Machina (2015), Annihilation (2018), Free Fire (2017), Men (2022) and Civil War (2024), as well as the series Devs (2020) and episodes of Black Mirror (2011–). He has also worked as a co-writer, arranger and musician with bands including Malachai.
Salisbury won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Original Film Score for Ex Machina and received an Emmy nomination for his work on a Wildlife on One episode.
