Biography
Claire Du Brey (born Clara Violet Dubrey, 31 August 1892 – 1 August 1993) was an American actress. She appeared in more than 200 films between 1916 and 1959.
Du Brey began her screen career with Universal Studios and worked with most of the major studios. Early notable films include Anything Once (1917), Social Briars (1918), The Devil's Trail (1919), What Every Woman Wants (1919) and Dangerous Hours (1919). Her career continued into the sound era with mostly supporting and uncredited roles.
Among her later credits are The Shop Around the Corner (1940), Now, Voyager (1942), The Best Years of Our Lives (1946), The Bishop's Wife (1947), Samson and Delilah (1949), Ace in the Hole (1951), Lust for Life (1956) and Cinderella (1950), in which she received a credit only as voice.
