Biography
David Bamber is an English actor born on 19 September 1954 in Walkden, Lancashire. He studied drama at Bristol University and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), where he won the Gold Medal in 1979.
Bamber is known for his stage work, winning the 1995 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor for his performance in My Night with Reg. On television he played Marcus Tullius Cicero in the HBO–BBC series Rome (2005–2007). His film roles include appearances in The Bourne Identity (2002), Valkyrie (2008), Darkest Hour (2017) and Borg vs McEnroe (2017).
He is married to actress Julia Swift.
