Biography
David Dencik is a Swedish-Danish actor. Born on 31 October 1974 in Stockholm, he has appeared in Swedish, Danish and English-language productions.
His early breakthrough came with the Swedish miniseries Lasermannen (2005). He is known for roles including Toby Esterhase in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011), Young Gustaf Morell in the English version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), Mikhail Gorbachev in Chernobyl (2019), and Valdo Obruchev in No Time to Die (2021). He is also cast in the upcoming film Clayface (2026).
Dencik has won two Robert Awards, for A Soap (2006) and The Chestnut Man (2021), and a Guldbagge Award for The Perfect Patient (2019). He has received seven Bodil Award nominations.
