Biography

David Schofield is an English actor born on 16 December 1951 in Wythenshawe, Manchester. He trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art after early work in a local repertory theatre and has been active since 1972.

He is known for roles including the Dart Player in An American Werewolf in London (1981), Falco in Gladiator (2000), Ian Mercer in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006) and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007), and Clement Attlee in Darkest Hour (2017). Other credits include The Last of the Mohicans (1992), From Hell (2001), Valkyrie (2008) and The Wolfman (2010). He has appeared in numerous television series and has a stage background that includes work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre. He is married to actress Lally Percy.
