Biography

David Torrence (born David Tayson) was a Scottish film actor. He was born on 17 January 1864 in Edinburgh and died on 26 December 1951 in Los Angeles. He appeared in more than 100 films between 1913 and 1939, and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was the brother of actor Ernest Torrence.

His film credits include the role of Lord Michael Probert in Disraeli (1929). Other appearances encompass City Girl (1930), Queen Christina (1934), Mutiny on the Bounty (1935), Captain Blood (1935), The Mask of Fu Manchu (1932) and Mary of Scotland (1936).
