Biography
Dennis Virkler was an American film editor whose credits include The Hunt for Red October (1990) and The Fugitive (1993). He began working in editing in the 1970s on genre films and television projects before moving into feature films.
Virkler received two Academy Award nominations for Best Film Editing, for The Hunt for Red October and The Fugitive. He was a member of the American Cinema Editors. The Fugitive was ranked 39th in a 2012 Motion Picture Editors Guild survey of the best-edited films of all time. His other credits include Batman Forever (1995), Batman & Robin (1997), Daredevil (2003) and The Chronicles of Riddick (2004).
Virkler died on 15 September 2022.
