Biography
Donald Sumpter is an English actor. He was born on 13 February 1943 in Brixworth, Northamptonshire, and has worked in film and television since the mid-1960s.
His television credits include early appearances in Doctor Who (1968 and 1972), the role of Julian Hereford in the Black Mirror episode 'The National Anthem' (2011), Maester Luwin in Game of Thrones (2011–2012), and Zharkov in Chernobyl (2019). Film roles include The Constant Gardener (2005), Eastern Promises (2007), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) and In the Heart of the Sea (2015).
