Biography

Eduardo Serra was a Portuguese cinematographer. He worked mainly on European and British productions, with frequent collaborations with directors Patrice Leconte and Claude Chabrol.

Serra shot Unbreakable (2000), Girl with a Pearl Earring (2003), Blood Diamond (2006), Defiance (2008) and the final two Harry Potter films (2010 and 2011). He received Academy Award nominations for The Wings of the Dove (1997) and Girl with a Pearl Earring, and a BAFTA for the former. In 2004 he was awarded the Ordem do Infante D. Henrique for services to Portuguese culture.
