Biography
Steve Kloves is an American screenwriter, director and producer. Born Stephen Keith Kloves on 18 March 1960 in Austin, Texas, he grew up in Sunnyvale, California, and attended the University of California, Los Angeles before dropping out.
He began his career with the screenplay for Racing with the Moon (1984). Kloves wrote and directed The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989) and Flesh and Bone (1993). He adapted Michael Chabon's novel for Wonder Boys (2000), earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. Kloves wrote the screenplays for seven of the eight Harry Potter films (2001–2011), excluding Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, as well as The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022).
