Biography
Elliot Goldenthal is an American composer of contemporary classical music, film scores and theatrical works. He was born on 2 May 1954 in Brooklyn, New York, and studied at the Manhattan School of Music, where he was a student of John Corigliano; he was also mentored by Aaron Copland.
Goldenthal is known for his film scores, including Alien³ (1992), Interview with the Vampire (1994), Heat (1995), Batman Forever (1995), Batman & Robin (1997) and Frida (2002). He won the Academy Award for Best Original Score for Frida, directed by his long-time collaborator and partner Julie Taymor.
