Biography
Erdman Penner was a Canadian screenwriter, songwriter and producer. Born on 17 January 1905 in Rosthern, Saskatchewan, he studied at the University of Saskatchewan, the American Academy of Art in Chicago and the American School for Writers in Hollywood before being hired by Walt Disney Productions in 1935.
Penner contributed stories or adaptations to several Disney animated features, including Pinocchio (1940), Cinderella (1950), Alice in Wonderland (1951), Peter Pan (1953, for which he also wrote lyrics), Lady and the Tramp (1955, on which he served as associate producer) and Sleeping Beauty (1959). He died on 10 November 1956 in Los Angeles, California.
