Biography

Frank J. Urioste is an American film editor. He began his career in the film industry in 1957 as a music editor at MGM and received his first editing credit on What Ever Happened to Aunt Alice? (1969).

Urioste is known for his work on action and thriller films, including RoboCop (1987), Die Hard (1988), Total Recall (1990) and Basic Instinct (1992). He has been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing three times, for RoboCop, Die Hard and Basic Instinct. He received the American Cinema Editors Career Achievement Award in 2007. Since 1998 he has served as senior vice president of feature development at Warner Bros.
