Biography
Gary Barber is a South African-American film producer and media executive. He began his career in accounting before moving into the film industry, working at companies including Vestron International Group and Morgan Creek Productions.
In 1998 he co-founded Spyglass Entertainment with Roger Birnbaum. Barber served as chairman and CEO of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from 2010 to 2018. He later relaunched Spyglass Media Group. His credits include producer on True Romance (1993) and executive producer on films such as Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994), Unbreakable (2000), Bruce Almighty (2003) and Wanted (2008).
