Biography
George Tomasini (20 April 1909 – 22 November 1964) was an American film editor. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, he worked at Paramount before beginning a decade-long collaboration with director Alfred Hitchcock in 1954.
Tomasini edited nine Hitchcock films, including Rear Window (1954), Vertigo (1958), North by Northwest (1959), Psycho (1960) and The Birds (1963). He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing for North by Northwest. Other credits include Stalag 17 (1953), The Time Machine (1960) and Cape Fear (1962). He was married to actress Mary Brian from 1947 until his death.
