Biography

Hannah Beachler is an American production designer. She grew up in Centerville, Ohio, studied fashion design at the University of Cincinnati and film at Wright State University.

Beachler began working with director Ryan Coogler on Fruitvale Station (2013) and has collaborated with him on Creed (2015), Black Panther (2018), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) and Sinners (2025). Her other credits include Moonlight (2016) and No Sudden Move (2021). She has also designed for Beyoncé projects including Lemonade (2016) and Black Is King (2020).

In 2019 Beachler became the first African-American to win the Academy Award for Best Production Design, for Black Panther. She has received three Art Directors Guild Awards and was nominated for an Emmy for Lemonade.
