Biography
Harry Edward Melling is an English actor. He was born on 17 March 1989 in London and trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. His maternal grandfather was the actor Patrick Troughton.
Melling first came to prominence playing Dudley Dursley in five Harry Potter films between 2001 and 2010. He has appeared in films including The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018), The Old Guard (2020), The Devil All the Time (2020) and The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021), in which he played Malcolm. On television he portrayed Harry Beltik in the miniseries The Queen's Gambit (2020). He has also worked extensively in theatre, with early roles at the National Theatre and later appearances including in productions of King Lear.
