Biography
Holt McCallany is an American actor. He was born Holt Quinn McAloney on 3 September 1963 in New York City to theatrical parents: his mother was cabaret singer and actress Julie Wilson, and his father was Irish actor and producer Michael McAloney.
McCallany trained in France at the Sorbonne and the Paris American Academy, studied theatre at L’École Marcel Marceau and L’École Jacques Lecoq, and spent time at Oxford University. He began his professional career in theatre, including an apprenticeship at the Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival.
He is known for roles in Fight Club (1999), the FX series Lights Out (2011), Mindhunter (2017–19) as FBI agent Bill Tench, The Iron Claw (2023) as Fritz Von Erich, and Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning (2025) as Serling.
