Biography
Jack Pennick was an American film actor who appeared in more than 140 films between 1926 and 1962. Born Ronald Jack Pennick in Portland, Oregon, he worked as a gold miner and served in the US Marine Corps before entering the film industry as a horse wrangler. He became a frequent member of director John Ford's stock company, appearing in dozens of Ford's films, often in small or uncredited roles.
His credits include Stagecoach (1939), The Grapes of Wrath (1940), Fort Apache (1948), She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949), The Searchers (1956), The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962) and How the West Was Won (1962). Pennick also served in the US Navy during the Second World War as part of John Ford's Field Photographic Unit and received the Silver Star. He died in Manhattan Beach, California.
