Biography
James Millican (1910–1955) was an American actor who appeared in more than 200 films, the majority of them westerns. He began his career with uncredited parts in the 1930s and later took supporting roles in films such as Winchester '73 (1950), where he played Wheeler, and The Man from Laramie (1955), in which he portrayed Tom Quigby.
Millican graduated from the University of Southern California and trained at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's dramatic school. He was a close associate of cowboy star Wild Bill Elliott and organised rodeo appearances for him. He died in Los Angeles on 24 November 1955 after a brief illness.
