Biography
Jay Roach, also credited as Matthew Jay Roach or M. Jay Roach, is an American film director and producer. Born on 14 June 1957 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he graduated from Stanford University with a BA in economics and earned an MFA in film production from the University of Southern California.
Roach directed the Austin Powers film series (1997–2002), Meet the Parents (2000), Meet the Fockers (2004), Dinner for Schmucks (2010), The Campaign (2012), Trumbo (2015) and Bombshell (2019). He produced Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006) through his Everyman Pictures banner, along with other films. He has also directed the television films Recount (2008), Game Change (2012) and All the Way (2016), receiving four Primetime Emmy Awards.
