Biography
Jeanne Tripplehorn is an American actress. She trained at the Juilliard School after studying at the University of Tulsa and began her career on stage, appearing in Off-Broadway productions such as John Patrick Shanley's The Big Funk and on Broadway in Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters.
Her film career began with the role of Dr. Beth Garner in the 1992 thriller Basic Instinct. Subsequent film roles include Abby McDeere in The Firm (1993), Helen in Waterworld (1995) and Lydia in Sliding Doors (1998). On television she starred as Barbara Henrickson in the HBO series Big Love (2006–2011) and as Dr. Alex Blake in Criminal Minds (2012–2014). She received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for portraying Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the 2009 HBO film Grey Gardens.
Tripplehorn is married to actor Leland Orser.
