Biography
John Lucarotti was a British-Canadian screenwriter. Born in Aldershot, Hampshire, he served ten years in the Royal Navy after the Second World War before moving to Canada in 1950. He began his writing career at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, contributing scripts for radio and television series including Radisson.
He later returned to Britain and wrote six episodes of The Avengers (1961) and fifteen episodes of Doctor Who (1963), comprising the serials Marco Polo, The Aztecs and The Massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve. He also wrote thirty-two episodes of The Troubleshooters and created series including Operation Patch and The Ravelled Thread. Lucarotti novelised his Doctor Who stories for Target Books and died in Paris in 1994.
