Biography
Julian Day is a British costume designer. He graduated with a degree in theatre studies from Birmingham Polytechnic and began his career at Angels Costumes in London, learning his craft on low-budget films before progressing to feature films.
He is known for his work on Bohemian Rhapsody (2018), for which he received a BAFTA nomination, and Rocketman (2019), which earned him the Hollywood Critics Association Award and the Phoenix Film Critics Society Award. Day has collaborated extensively with director Ron Howard on Rush (2013), In the Heart of the Sea (2015) and Inferno (2016). His other credits include Robin Hood (2018), The Snowman (2017), Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016) and Catherine Called Birdy (2022). He has received multiple Costume Designers Guild and Critics Choice nominations.
Day designed the costumes for F1 (2025) and The Running Man (2025). A lifelong Formula One enthusiast, he grew up attending races with his father, who sponsored cars in the 1970s.
