Biography

Kiran Shah is a Kenyan-born British actor and stunt performer. Born on 28 September 1956 in Nairobi, he moved with his family first to India and later to Feltham in England. He began working in film in 1977 as a stand-in on Candleshoe and soon took on stunt work after encouragement from stunt coordinator Bob Anderson.

Shah is credited as Blunder in Legend (1985). He is known for roles including an Ewok in Return of the Jedi (1983), Abu in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Ginarrbrik in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005), the Goblin Scribe in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012), and several characters in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. He has also performed extensive stunt and scale-double work across the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films. In 2024 he was appointed MBE for services to the film industry, and he holds the Guinness World Record as the world's shortest professional stuntman.
