Biography
Leslie Tomkins is an English art director and production designer, often credited as Les Tomkins or Leslie William Tomkins. Born in 1948 in Hammersmith, London, he began working in film art departments in the 1970s.
He is known for his collaborations with Stanley Kubrick, serving as art director on The Shining (1980) and Full Metal Jacket (1987), and as production designer on Eyes Wide Shut (1999). Other credits include supervising art director on Batman (1989), Sleepy Hollow (1999) and Troy (2004), and art director roles on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) and Cinderella (2015).
Tomkins received an Academy Award nomination for Best Art Direction for Yentl (1983). He has also won a Golden Satellite Award and an Art Directors Guild award for his work on Sleepy Hollow.
